Coalition Human Trafficking

September 23, 2024. Moms for America and Moms for Liberty came together for the first time to collaborate to together to fight child sex trafficking and highlight the problem of children being trafficked from public schools.

Courtney Litvak was the guest speaker invited to share how she was trafficked from her high school in Katy, Texas and the work she now does to combat grooming and trafficking of children in public schools. Cassie Fletcher, Acting Director of Membership at Moms for America spoke on the importance of organizations collaborating to make a difference. Dan Simons, Moms for America endorsed candidate for Harris County District Attorney shared his story of growing up in foster care and the abuse he and many children in foster care endured. Both he and Sheriff candidate Mike Knox detailed the plans they would implement to combat trafficking in the third most populous county in the United States. Congressman Morgan Luttrell, District Director, also spoke on the congressman’s behalf voicing his commitment to leading the fight to protect the innocent from being lost into the sex industry. Attendees were activated to help be the army needed to save the children.

Teresa Thomas also shared her experience of attending special training regarding Human trafficking. “It was an honor to be invited to participate in skills-based training for the epidemic of human trafficking alongside both federal, state and local law enforcement. It was a reminder that everyone can help stop this crime against our most vulnerable children and youth. Even more importantly what we can do to help promote legislation that will help in the fight to stop the unthinkable.”

Teresa learned about new methods that demonstrate the most effective recovery of the enslaved and how to successfully provide transfer to their medical, emotional and housing needs that most Americans take for granted.​
