On August 2, 2023, Macey (Burleson County Moms for America Group Leader), with the help of Tressie Roark (Membership Administrator for Moms for America), participated in the Back-to-School Blast event organized and hosted by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Agency. Moms for America was one out of fifty-six different service groups and organizations from the area that participated along with 175 volunteers. Each table had information to pass out about their group as well as necessary school supplies ranging from glue sticks, pencils and pencil erasers to folders and notebook paper. Among these groups, almost 400 kids walked through the fairgrounds pavilion to stuff their backpacks full of needed school supplies. Â Â
Overall, Burleson County Moms for America gave out 96 packs of crayons, 48 pens, 24 glue sticks, 349 erasers, and over 300 pencils. In addition, this event provided 60 vision screenings, 45 haircuts, 43 diaper packs and over 360 backpacks were given.Â
