On August 29th, 2023, Amber Morris (La Plata County Moms for America Group Leader) had her first Group Meeting in Durango, Colorado. Amber prepared folders for all the meeting attendees that included a Moms for America Group Info Packet, a Pocket Constitution, and a questionnaire to get to know her members better.

Amber started off the meeting by asking everyone what their priorities and obstacles were. This was a great way to get the members to express what’s important to them and what their concerns might be.

Amber emphasized that the group’s focus would be solutions for the moms and the children of La Plata County. She also had a raffle for Moms for America merch. Moms for America Membership and Education Director, Zaira Gomez, was also present to support Amber with her first meeting.
